For the past few months I have been a first grade teacher’s assistance for Dixie Kotter. Today was the last day of school. I took bulletin boards down and helped Ms. Kotter take down her room almost the whole time I was there. As I was about to leave the class to go and substitute for a woman named Rhonda for lunchroom duty, Kotter asked me to come up in front of the class. The kids had signed a homemade card they helped make with Kotter. Then Kotter gave me a wonderful thank you card and a CD of Enya. Kotter asked me if I wanted to say anything to the kids. I said I couldn’t cause I would cry if I did. Then one of the girls said she wished I was her Mom. They all gave me a hug and I was so sad to see school end.

On the way home I picked up Monty from work. As I waited for him to come out, I read the homemade card. Audrey, who reminds me of me, wrote ‘I don’t want you to leave’ in the card. I started to cry in the car and cried for a little while. I love those kids. I am going to miss working with them so much.

Today when I was at school I was really busy. It is getting close to the end of the school year. I am a first grade teacher assistant. During the time of the first recess, about 10:45 A.M., Ms. Kotter the teacher left for a break.

A few of the students stayed in for a while to try and catch up on their work.
I needed to eat something because of being pregnant right now. I got out some fruit in a cup to eat and sat down to help a little girl in the class. She mentioned she was hungry and wished she could eat. I then told her I was pregnant and needed to eat during my break. She then looked down at my stomach and said. “You look pregnant.” I had to laugh inside. I am a little over 3 months pregnant and am not showing yet, but it was still funny coming from such a sweet, honest, innocent girl.
